Jordan Brand pays homage to Michael Jordan's alma mater, the University of North Carolina (UNC), with a reinterpretation of the classic with the iconic Air Jordan 4 Retro “University Blue”. The shoe continues the AJ4's legendary pedigree while injecting a new design language that is a perfect blend of retro and modern.
The shoe's body is made of University Blue suede, a hue taken directly from UNC's classic school colors. The soft blue suede is layered with speckled Cement Grey eyelets, midsole and heel, while the black Jumpman logo reinforces the overall athletic aesthetic. A raised Jumpman icon in black characterizes the sneaker. A woven tab on the tongue is adorned with secondary Jumpman branding, designed to mimic the pants tab on the hem of Jordan's jersey.
